The section at the top of the window is displayed no matter which Patients tab is being viewed.
When registering a new patient all the fields are blank. Type in the First Name, Last Name and Middle Name. Click the dropdown list button
and select the appropriate title. Also complete the Patient Status and Office Provider. Complete the rest of the fields on the Demographic tab as they are displayed here for searching only.
In Patients, if the selected patient is not the required, then you need to search for your patient. In the top section of the type in the details you have to search for the patient. Searching can be done by First Name, Last Name, Healthcare #, Birth Date and "Sounds Like."
Sounds Like is a really helpful tool when it is not known how a patient's name is spelled. Type in the name as it sounds, click the Sounds Like button
. Accuro displays a list of suggested names based on what the patient's name sounds like.
When patient demographics are changed the following information is displayed on a Last Updated band: date/time last updated, user who made the change and office.
The Patient Search Tool can be used to find a patient in the database. This is the top section of the Patients window and is displayed no matter which of the tabs is being viewed. Search on First Name, Last Name, Middle Name, Healthcare Number, Identifier (File Number), and Birthdate.
There is also a "Sounds Like" button
which allows searching on a name where the exact spelling is uncertain.
Set preferred name
Searches by last name, first name, file number, health #, birth date and sounds like.
Sounds like, use this option when the spelling of a name is uncertain. Type in the name as it sounds.

on the Accuro Navigation bar.
To manage the Patient Status selections, follow the steps listed on Status History Tab.
The Ontario care card only contains the month and year and no day value for the expiry. For this purpose Patient Demographics uses the day of the patient's birthday for the day value of the expiry for Ontario care cards.
Patient Verification is intended to happen every time a patient visits your clinic. You can customize status to fit your clinic's needs.

Once the button is selected, the verification status and date are recorded in the system. The patient demographics should be verified every time the patient visits.
The Verification field
is also available in the Quick Edit Patient window (Alt+Enter when on a patient search field) and the Add New Patient window.
