Multiple Lab Results, Linking Duplicate Lab Results

Question: When I search for a lab result it should bring up only one result. In some cases multiple results are being displayed. Can you please tell me where these are coming from and how to get rid of them?

Answer: Duplication is not something that QHR can prevent as the results are sent from the lab. If there is any difference in how the result is presented then Accuro will create a new result so as not to mistakenly merge two results that are not in fact duplicates. For this reason, where the results are in fact duplicates, it is possible to link the results and also select which of the results to display in the Results Window. To link the Lab Results follow the procedure below:

  1. Click EMR  on the Accuro Navigation bar.
  2. Click the Encounter Notes tab.
  3. In the Labs section click the Add button .
  4. Click the Edit Tests button. The Edit Lab Tests window is displayed.
  5. Double-click on the appropriate test.
  6. Select the test from the Selected Results window.
  7. Click the Edit button .
  8. Click the Linking button. The Lab Result Linking window is displayed.
  9. Search for your duplicate results and link them into one "Primary Result."
  10. Click the Add button .
  11. In the Lab Result Search field, type in your result name.

Note: You can select a single result or press the Ctrl button and select multiple results that you want to be linked.
  12. Click to select a Primary Result. This is the result that is displayed in the chart.
  13. Click OK twice, followed by Update Test and Close. The results are now linked together and only one is displayed in the patient's chart.

Problem With Downloading Labs from Excelleris

Question: We are having trouble downloading labs into Accuro. It was working and now it has stopped. What is the problem?

Answer: The first thing to do is to check that you are using the same workstation that the certificate is installed on, that the certificate is still on your computer, that it hasn't expired and that it is installed in Internet Explorer. If all this is correct then the next step is to go to the Excelleris website and try and login directly:

https://auth.pathnet.ca/pathnet/isapi_pathnet.dll?Page=Login&Mode=Silent

If you cannot log into this website then the problem is that your certificate appears to be broken. You need to contact Excelleris for further assistance.
