Card Swipe (BC and ON Only)

The card swipe is a feature that can be used when a patient presents at your office with their Health Card or Driver's License. Where a care card or driver’s license is swiped and the card has expired (the current date is on or after the expiry date) then a warning message is displayed to alert the user.

  1. Press and release the Alt key, click Tools and select Card Swipe from the list displayed. The Card Swipe window is displayed.

Note: The shortcut for this is Ctrl+Space.
  2. Click the down arrow and select Health Card (BC also has the option of selecting a Drivers License).
  3. Click the checkboxes Go to Patient Section and/or Add as Arrived, as required.
  4. Swipe the patient's card when ready.
